More than 100 hundred million people, including at least 15 million children, currently use e-cigarettes, propelling a fresh wave of nicotine addiction, per recent global health data.

Vaping devices are fueling a "fresh wave" of nicotine addiction, stated a senior health expert. "These devices are marketed as risk reduction but, actually, are hooking children on nicotine sooner and risk undermining years of progress."
"Numerous of people are ceasing, or avoiding tobacco consumption thanks to tobacco regulation measures by countries across the planet," he commented.
"As a reaction to this strong advancement, the tobacco business is pushing back with novel nicotine devices, forcefully focusing on adolescents. Governments must act quicker and more forcefully in applying tested tobacco-control measures," the official continued.
The e-cigarette numbers are an approximation since numerous countries - 109 in total, and many in African and Asian regions - fail to collect information.
Per the study, as of February this period, at minimum 86 million e-cigarette consumers were mature individuals, primarily in developed nations.
And at least 15 million youth between the ages of 13 and 15 presently engage in vaping, based on surveys from 123 nations.

Occurrence of tobacco usage among females fell the greatest - from 11% in 2010 to 6.6% in 2024.
With males, the decrease was from 41.4% in 2010 to 32.5% in 2024.
But one in five of grown-ups internationally even now employs tobacco.
