The rising star boasts considerable social media presence
Kai Trump can count on plenty of prominent cheerleaders when she begins her first LPGA appearance later this week.
The 18-year-old athlete, who is the granddaughter of a former US president, received a sponsor's invitation to participate at the Annika tournament in Florida.
Her grandfather, an avid golfer, operates several golf courses and regularly plays against Kai.
"He's quite skilled. I can't say much but we play competitive games," she mentioned.
She mentioned that her grandfather, who won't be present, counseled her: "Simply avoid anxiety."
"He practically advised me to play and enjoy myself," she added.
"In my eyes, he's simply a normal grandpa. He won't be there this weekend. He's occupied with presidential duties, making him quite busy."
Being non-professional, Kai has participated in a mere three competitions recently and maintains ranking 461 in the American Junior Golf Association rankings.
However she's able to get advice from Tiger Woods, romantically involved with Vanessa.
"He stands as the top athlete in the world," the young golfer said.
"Furthermore, he's an even better individual. He suggested me to compete, have fun, and go with the flow."
She'll challenge several top competitors in the sport at the competition, such as second-ranked the champion, British golfer Hull, Lexi Thompson and 2023 champion Lilia Vu.
The LPGA mentioned that Kai's presence helps introduce the sport to wider groups, especially with younger fans.
The social media influencer has millions of followers and just introduced her own fashion and living company.
Her first tee time at late afternoon GMT.
