Over 36,000 individuals have evacuated from Sudan's Kordofan territory east of Darfur starting Saturday, according to the UN's migration organization.
The important central zone connecting the country's Darfur provinces and the Khartoum-Riverine area has during recent weeks become the newest conflict zone in the 24-month civil conflict between the Sudanese military forces and the paramilitary group.
An estimated 36,825 people fled five areas in North Kordofan region between 26 October and 31 October, per data from the International Organization for Migration.
The individuals, primarily walking, traveled to Tawila, a town west of El Fasher that is currently sheltering in excess of 652,000 refugees.
Citizens of North Kordofan on Monday noted a heavy surge in both RSF and army presence across towns and villages throughout the state.
Both armed factions are vying for control of El Obeid, the North Kordofan provincial capital and a key logistics and command center that joins Darfur to Khartoum.
"Today, all our forces have assembled at the Bara front here," said an RSF member in a recently circulated video message.
A area citizen of Um Smeima, located west of El Obeid, stated that the quantity of RSF vehicles had risen significantly since the group's seizure of El Fasher.
"We ceased visiting our farms, concerned about fighting," the resident commented.
Another inhabitant, who sought confidentiality for safety concerns, also reported that "there has been a big increase in army vehicles and weapons west and south of El Obeid" over the last fourteen days.
A senior UN official expressed concerns last week about "extensive crimes" and "ethnically motivated reprisals" by RSF in Bara.
The official warned of patterns comparable to patterns in Darfur, where RSF combatants have been charged with mass killings, sexual violence and abductions against specific ethnic communities.
The church leader on Sunday urged an immediate ceasefire and the establishment of relief routes in Sudan, saying that attacks on civilians and obstacles to humanitarian aid "are producing unacceptable suffering."
Sudan's official envoy to Egypt on Sunday alleged RSF of committing war crimes in El Fasher and announced that the Sudanese government would not discuss with the militia organization.
The representative further encouraged the world nations to designate the group as a terrorist organisation.
