British boxer Anthony Joshua Released from Medical Facility in Nigeria Following Tragic Car Crash

Olympic gold medalist Anthony Joshua has left the medical facility, officials in Lagos stated on Wednesday evening. The fighter was involved in a car accident outside Lagos on Monday, a horrific crash that claimed the lives of two of his team members.

Recovering from Minor Injuries

The sports star had remained in the hospital while healing from his light wounds, his promoter stated earlier on Monday. A government official, Gbenga Omotoso, announced via a post online that Joshua was declared medically stable to continue his recovery at home.

“Anthony and his mother were at the funeral home in Lagos this afternoon to offer their condolences to his two deceased friends as they were being prepared for repatriation,” Omotosho said.

A Tribute to the Fallen

The two men who died were named as Latif Ayodele, a personal trainer, and Sina Ghami, a performance coach. Omotoso added that the boxer was “heavy-hearted and full of emotions over the loss of his two dear friends.”

The news of his discharge follows the global fight fans had expressed its support for the star in the following the heartbreaking incident.
