Barça to Host Inaugural Fixture at Partially Completed Camp Nou over the weekend

The club confirmed their first game will take place at the still-under-construction Camp Nou on Saturday. The club will host Athletic Bilbao in the Spanish league two and a half years after they moved out for construction to commence.

“We’ve dreamed about the return. Now, it’s here. We’re back home. Back at Spotify Camp Nou.”

Attendance will be limited but 45,401 spectators will be allowed to watch as per the current authorization. When completed, the Camp Nou is due to hold over 104,000 attendees, up from the previous 99,000. The club said finished work included an updated entryway for the team and new dressing rooms.

Stadium Testing

Barcelona held a fan-accessible workout on the home pitch earlier this month. They mentioned approval is being pursued from Uefa to play their next home Champions League game facing Eintracht on 9 December in the renovated venue. They have been hosting matches at Estadio Olímpic Lluís Companys.
