A jet transporting Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth was compelled to make an unplanned landing in the UK on Wednesday due to a fissure was discovered in the plane's windshield, according to an official statement which verified that all passengers were secure.

"The aircraft landed based on standard protocol and all individuals on the flight, including Secretary Hegseth, is unharmed," a press officer stated in a online announcement.

The secretary was coming back from a quick journey to the city of Brussels when the incident occurred.

This event isn't the first occasion that a United States armed forces jet transporting a top government figure has experienced mechanical issues.

In a previous incident this year, a US Air Force plane ferrying the US Secretary of State to Munich was forced to return to Washington DC after encountering a mechanical problem.
